Our Guides

Kelly AKA "K Jo"
Founder and Guide
Kelly's experience in the outdoors is diverse and ever-expanding. One bright spring day when Kelly was a child she was running up a steep hill in her rural neighborhood, at some point she lost the silky red ribbon she wore in her hair, a few days later she found it wrapped beautifully in a robin's nest. She was stunned by the connection, even as a child she somehow knew a part of her was interwoven in the natural world. Over the past decade Kelly has found a love for helping others experience an awe-inspiring connection to the outdoors, finding reverie. During her training at the Wilderness Awareness School she learned survival skills, tracking and native ways with nature. She has been mentored by pioneering eco-philosophers and she tirelessly studies ecopsychology. She has competed in 24-hour mountain bike races, rode the waves of untamed rivers, explored the depths of caves and over time, collected 300 days of harsh winter camping. Kelly continues to explore the mountains on her bamboo cyclocross bike, an engagement gift from her husband, and loves to spend time with her daughter in the aspen grove behind their house. awestruck mountain bike hike organic farm tour

With over 15 years experience in the bike and outdoor industry, Russell has guided for adventure companies such as Longacre Expeditions and The World Outdoors as well as wrenched on 1000s of bikes. Russell is also actively engaged in the local community, serving as Vice President for the Nederland Area Trails Organization and coordinating Bike-to-Work Day activities. He is a dedicated and caring community leader. Outside of that pesky work stuff, with over a decade of getting lost in the Ned maze of trails, Russell likes to think he has all the turns figured out. awestruck
